Epiphany Theater Company at the John Houseman Theater
On a rainy night, two policemen, one black and one white, are on duty when a young kid pulls out what looks like a gun. The white officers shoots. Now, it is the eve of the verdict in what appears to have been a racially motivating shooting. The favorite police bar is nearly empty, the bartender taking mementos home for protection in case of riots. As the night wears on and the announcement of the verdict nears, the officers, and their only two supporters, grapple with the past . . . and the truth.
